About The Position
Saint Mary’s Hospital Lab in Waterbury, CT is hiring a Hospital Phlebotomist. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic, high-energy environment, loves helping patients, stays organized, and enjoys being part of a fast-paced, supportive team. The phlebotomist will be responsible for obtaining in-house blood specimens, processing laboratory specimens for clinical analysis, and providing patient information to the appropriate caregiver. This work is vital to the diagnosis, treatment, and care of patients.
Requirements
- High school diploma/GED
- Completion of Phlebotomy Training Program
Nice To Haves
- Nat'l Phlebotomy Certification preferred
Responsibilities
- Properly identifies patient per policy and performs venipuncture using standard/butterfly methods
- Labels all specimens following laboratory policy
- Receives/cancels/orders and processes laboratory/microbiology specimens
