About The Position
Saint Mary’s Hospital Lab in Waterbury, CT is seeking a Hospital Phlebotomist to join their Lab Team. This role is ideal for someone who loves helping patients, staying organized, and being part of a fast-paced, supportive team. The phlebotomist will be responsible for obtaining in-house blood specimens, processing laboratory specimens for clinical analysis, and providing patient information to the appropriate care giver. This work is vital to the diagnosis, treatment, and care of patients.
Requirements
- High school diploma/GED
- Completion of Phlebotomy Training Program
Nice To Haves
- Nat'l Phlebotomy Certification preferred
Responsibilities
- Properly identifies patient per policy and performs venipuncture using standard/butterfly methods
- Labels all specimens following laboratory policy
- Receives/cancels/orders and processes laboratory/microbiology specimens
