About The Position

Carter BloodCare is expanding its dynamic team of Phlebotomists and is looking for individuals passionate about helping others, committed to delivering the highest care and customer service to our donors, and willing to learn. This role is essential to the procurement process of safe and quality blood products. Opportunities are available on Mobile Collections teams, which travel to different locations for blood drives, and Donor Center teams, located throughout North, Central, and East Texas. Donor Center team members have the opportunity to build relationships with regular donors. The training period can last up to nine weeks, with variable hours including early mornings, late nights, and weekends. After training, team members work a variable schedule to meet community needs, with schedules provided three weeks in advance. Mobile Collections teams start in Bedford, TX, and travel to designated blood drives. Donor Center roles are at designated sites within North, Central, or East Texas.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Six months of general work experience OR comparable education in the medical field, such as an internship or externship.
  • Customer service experience

Nice To Haves

  • Prior healthcare or phlebotomy experience
  • Prior leadership experience
  • Bilingual (Spanish) skills
  • Motivated to become a designated van or CDL driver through company-sponsored programs

Responsibilities

  • Personally connect with donors, listen to their stories, and help them understand the impact of their donation.
  • Collaborate with teammates to create a friendly environment so volunteer donors feel comfortable returning and encouraging their friends/family to donate.
  • Be detail-oriented to ensure that the blood collected meets regulatory requirements and can be safely transfused.
  • Work with the team to move, set up, and take down equipment at mobile blood drives.
