Phlebotomist: 20 Hour Per Week (Midnights)
About The Position
Ascension Alexian Brothers is seeking a Phlebotomist for a 20-hour per week position. This role involves collecting blood specimens, performing laboratory office duties, and processing laboratory specimens. The laboratory office duties include registering patients, entering data into the computer system, specimen accessioning, answering phones, and processing paperwork. Specimen processing involves preparing specimens for testing or shipment. The individual will handle blood, body fluid, and urine specimens according to procedures and may perform waived and specified non-waived POC tests. In some facilities, this role may also involve acting as a driver and participating in on-call rotations.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Previous phlebotomy experience and/or training is required
- Valid driver’s license and a good driving record

- Knowledge of medical terminology
- May be required to travel/drive to other locations

- Acting as a driver and participating in the on-call rotation (as required in some facilities)
