About The Position

This role involves using equipment to collect samples of blood and other fluids from patients/residents, explaining procedures, and collecting information in a professional manner. The position requires collecting and managing samples, ensuring patient safety, accurately recording patient information, following standard procedures and safety regulations, and deploying asepsis techniques during phlebotomy procedures. Communication with patients/residents, including collecting health information and answering questions about procedures, is also a key part of the role.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or General Educational Development Diploma (GED) required.
  • May be required to have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of a formal phlebotomy program.
  • Phlebotomy experience.
  • Experience in a laboratory-related field.

Responsibilities

  • Collects and manages samples of blood and specimens from patients/residents.
  • Ensures patient/resident safety during the sample collection process.
  • Records and documents patient/resident information accurately.
  • Follows all standard procedures and safety regulations.
