About The Position

This is a part-time Phlebotomist position with MAKO. The role involves collecting specimens, processing them, managing data entry, and ensuring accurate billing. The position requires adherence to company policies and procedures, excellent customer service, and the ability to work independently. Travel may be required.

Requirements

  • Able to perform repetitive tasks with dominant hand frequently to constantly throughout the day.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Keyboard/data entry experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred.
  • One year phlebotomy experience preferred.
  • Customer service in a retail or service environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Collect specimens according to established procedures, including drug screens, blood samples, and processing pathology and cytology samples.
  • Research test/client information and confirm/verify all written and electronic orders using lab technology systems or directory of services.
  • Complete all data entry requirements accurately, including patient registration and test order entry from requisitions.
  • Enter billing information and collect payments when required, safeguarding assets and credit card information.
  • Perform data entry and process specimens, including labeling, centrifuging, splitting, and freezing as required.
  • Work iLabs for assigned accounts daily to ensure accurate data for billing.
  • Provide necessary CIR and PPE Resolution reporting to the Director as required and scheduled.
  • Perform departmental-related clerical duties such as data entry, inventory, stocking supplies, and answering phones.
  • Read, understand, and comply with departmental policies, protocols, and procedures.
  • Perform verification of patient demographic info/initials, including patient signature post-venipuncture to verify tubes were labeled in their presence and that the name on the label is correct.
  • Assist with compilation and submission of monthly statistics and data.
  • Maintain all appropriate phlebotomy logs in a timely manner, such as maintenance logs and temperature logs.
  • Complete training courses and stay up-to-date with the latest phlebotomy techniques.
  • Travel to Territory Manager meetings if held off-site or off normal shift.
  • Participate in special projects and teams.
  • Stay up-to-date on company communications.
