The phlebotomist will collect blood using good judgment and according to policies and procedures, ensuring proper patient identification, specimen collection, labeling, and transport. They will also monitor patients post-collection and review standard checklists for potential adverse reactions. Additionally, the role may include performing EKG, clerical, and specimen transport functions, as well as providing reception and clerical duties at the Specimen Collection center front desk. Maintaining supply inventory and completing required training are also key aspects of the position. The role emphasizes teamwork and good communication skills with co-workers.
