About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a Phlebotomist to join their team in East Suffolk County, NY. This is a casual/per diem position, meaning hours will be "as needed" and will vary from Monday through Saturday between 6:00 am and 8:00 pm. The role involves performing blood collections, data entry, processing billing, preparing specimens, maintaining logs, providing customer service, and potentially traveling to additional sites. Requirements

High school diploma or GED or equivalent
Phlebotomy certification or completed training program or 3 months or more experience as a phlebotomist
Reliable transportation required
Flexibility to work overtime as needed
Able to pass a standardized color blindness test

Nice To Haves

1 year or more experience performing blood collections by venipuncture on pediatric patients
Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service
Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
Ability to work independently or in a team environment
Comfortable working under minimal supervision

Responsibilities

Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
Process billing information and collect payments when required
Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis
Maintain patient and specimen information logs
Provide superior customer service to all patients
Administrative and clerical duties as necessary
Travel to additional sites when needed
