About The Position

Regional West Medical Center is seeking a dedicated Phlebotomist to join our laboratory team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely collecting blood specimens from patients of all ages, ensuring proper identification and accurate labeling while delivering compassionate, patient-centered care. Availability to work varying shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed. Requirements

  • High School Diploma (required within 6 months if performing testing)
  • Must meet CLIA personnel requirements (if applicable)
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy

  • Ability to manage stress and frequent interruptions in a fast-paced environment

Nice To Haves

  • Phlebotomy training or certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform venipunctures, capillary draws, and occasional arterial punctures using proper technique.
  • Accurately verify patient identity and clearly label specimens.
  • Transport specimens promptly to the laboratory.
  • Follow procedures, document work, and stay alert for any abnormal results that require escalation.
  • Communicate regularly with providers, nurses, and lab staff.
  • Assist with specimen processing or limited testing when needed.
  • Participate in training, onboarding, and performance initiatives.
