About The Position
This role involves working closely with laboratory personnel to facilitate the performance of laboratory tests. The phlebotomist will maintain a positive attitude with patients, answer their questions, and interact with nursing personnel for laboratory requisitions and charting. Additionally, the role includes assisting patients and physicians with test preparation information and scheduling patients for testing.
Requirements
- Ability to read well enough to follow instructions, write legibly, have good communication skills and a moderate degree of manual dexterity
- Must be a registered CPT Phlebotomist or equivalent
- BLS certification required
Responsibilities
- Works closely with all laboratory personnel to facilitate the performance of laboratory tests as ordered by the physician
- Maintains a pleasant and friendly attitude with patients and tries to answer their questions to the best of their ability
- Interacts with nursing personnel in the completion of laboratory requisitions and the charting
- Assists patients and physicians in acquiring correct information about preparation for testing
- Schedules patients for testing
