About The Position

This posting is for multiple openings of Phlebotomist at Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center & Children's Hospital in Spokane, WA. We are hiring for the following opportunities: Supplemental or Per Diem, Variable Shift, no guaranteed hours. Under the general direction of the Laboratory Director, the Phlebotomist collects and processes laboratory specimens from all areas of the hospital including, but not limited to the Emergency Department, Main Tower, West Tower, East Tower and Outpatient areas, including blood samples, skin scrapings, and POCT testing and non-blood specimens. Maintains laboratory supplies by ordering, receiving and stocking them. Answers the telephone and relays messages. Performs general laboratory duties including general cleaning, instrument maintenance, copying, faxing and other related duties. Registers patients and accessions specimens into the computer system. Labels, processes and distributes samples. Prints pending logs. Prints, copies and distributes reports depending upon department. Requirements

  • H.S. Diploma or GED or documentation of higher education
  • Must have completed a Medical Assistant with Phlebotomy or Phlebotomy course
  • Washington Medical Assistant Phlebotomist Certification upon hire
  • Computer experience
  • Laboratory or related science experience

Nice To Haves

  • 6 months of Phlebotomist-specific experience which can include time spent in the Phlebotomist training program
