TMC Bonham Hospital is a 25-bed critical access hospital that includes both primary care and specialty physicians. The Critical Access Hospital, offering both inpatient and outpatient services along with 24-hour emergency services. The Critical Access Hospital (CAH) Program was established to assure access to healthcare services for rural residents. Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED, or highest level of education.
  • Must be able to commute between facilities in a timely manner.
  • Proof of High School Diploma or equivalent required on hire.
  • Must have the ability to read, write and learn a computer system.
  • Must demonstrate knowledge and skill in obtaining laboratory specimens from all age groups.
  • Must have good verbal communication and listening skills.
  • Must have commitment to team operation with excellent customer service skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Training and certification from National Committee for Lab Standards phlebotomy program preferred.
  • Previous experience preferred.
  • ASCP (American Society of Clinical Pathologist) certified as Phlebotomist desired, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Under the direction of the Phlebotomy Supervisor, Lead Phlebotomists, MLT's, Lead MT/MLT, Assistant Director and Director of Lab.
  • Responsible to perform routine blood drawing procedures including but not limited to proper collection of venous and capillary specimens.
  • Respond to hospital codes as necessary as well as bedside testing per physician orders.
  • This position also assists in clerical duties and processing of outpatients.
