About The Position

Requirements

  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • No training or experience required. One (1) year of job-related experience (including phlebotomy) preferred
  • Incumbent operates a TMH vehicle and requires a valid state driver license.
  • Required to be at least twenty-one (21) years of age and with a minimum of two (2) years of licensed driving experience.
  • Required to provide a seven (7)- year driving record from the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) prior to employment.
  • Will have received no more than two (2) minor violations in the past three (3) years and zero (0) major violations in the past five (5) years
  • Successful completion of a drug screen, background check, reference verification, health assessment, and credential/license verification.

  • One (1) year of job-related experience (including phlebotomy) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Performs phlebotomy on all age and acuity levels using established procedures and safety devices; ensure accurate specimen identification and integrity; responsible for assuring that all aliquoting and separation is done with precision and accuracy on a timely basis; must have an understanding of specimen requirements and be able to determine appropriateness of specimens received; responsible for reporting of patient results to the appropriate client by charting, telephone, fax, modem or computer; responsible for assuring accurate input of patient demographics and insurance information.
  • Responsible for daily billing operations, responsible for sending specimens to and receiving results from reference laboratories, professionally answers phones, provides reception and general clerical duties for the laboratory; performs routine centrifuge maintenance and inventory of supplies, provides assistance and information to outreach locations; assists Section Head and other Laboratory staff as needed.
