Phlebotomist - Per Diem
About The Position
Labcorp is seeking a Phlebotomist to join their team. This is a casual/per diem position with hours as needed, varying from Monday-Friday 6:00 am - 6:00 pm and weekends. The role involves performing blood collections, processing specimens, data entry, customer service, and administrative duties. Phlebotomists work in either a Patient Service Center or Client office, serving as the face of the company and providing exceptional customer service and skilled specimen collections. Requirements
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent
- Phlebotomy certification or completed training program or 3 months or more experience as a phlebotomist
Nice To Haves
- 1 year or more of phlebotomy experience
- Phlebotomy certification or completed training program must come from an accredited agency
- Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service
- Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment
- Comfortable working under minimal supervision
- Reliable transportation
- Flexibility to work overtime as needed
- Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
Responsibilities
- Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
- Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
- Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
- Process billing information and collect payments as necessary
- Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis
- Maintain patient and specimen information logs
- Provide superior customer service to all patients
- Administrative and clerical duties as necessary
- Travel to additional sites when needed
