Under the supervision of the Phlebotomy Supervisor, the Phlebotomist ensures accurate specimen collection, labeling, and handling. They maintain a clean environment, support patient comfort and safety, and help educate and reassure patients during procedures. This role involves interpreting provider test orders, performing specimen accessioning and processing, and utilizing computer systems for registration and test order entry. The Phlebotomist also assists with training team members and students, models compassionate patient-centered care, adheres to safety practices, operates technical equipment, and manages inventory.
