Phlebotomist: 32 Hours Per Week (PM/Midnights)
About The Position
Franciscan Health is seeking a dedicated Phlebotomist to join their team. This role involves collecting blood specimens, performing laboratory office duties, and processing laboratory specimens. Responsibilities include patient registration, data entry, specimen accessioning, answering phones, and processing paperwork. The Phlebotomist will also prepare specimens for testing and shipment, handle various body fluid and urine specimens, and may perform waived and specified non-waived Point-of-Care (POC) tests. In some facilities, this role may also include driving to other locations and participating in an on-call rotation.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Previous phlebotomy experience and/or training is required
- Valid driver’s license and a good driving record

Responsibilities

- Preparation of specimens for testing and/or for sending to the central laboratory or to a reference laboratory
- Handling blood, body fluid and urine specimens according to established procedures
- Performing limited waived and specified non-waived POC tests as authorized by the Laboratory Director
- Acting as a driver and participating in the on-call rotation (as required in some facilities)
