About The Position

The Phlebotomist will collect and handle various sample types from patients of all ages in a professional and compassionate manner. Certification in phlebotomy and/or relevant experience in patient care is a plus. Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on patient interaction. This Part-time position will be scheduled to work Monday thru Friday from 7:30am - 1:30pm. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accuracy in all work; Complete tasks on time and per any deadlines, label specimens with a high degree of accuracy, ensure proper tubes are used for each blood test ordered
  • Verify the identity of every patient before collecting any samples
  • Proper identification and sample collection at all times
  • Be aware of Medicare guidelines, send-out test requirements, and special tests; Explain Medicare ABNs to patients clearly and accurately
  • Perform venipuncture and finger/heel stick procedures with a high degree of professionalism and concern for the patient, including a minimum of 2 sticks per encounter
  • Collect nasal swabs, throat swabs, and blood cultures when needed
