About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a Phlebotomist in East Setauket, New York. The role is scheduled for 25 hours per week: Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and Saturday from 7:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The Phlebotomist may work in a Patient Service Center or a client office, providing skilled specimen collections and exceptional customer service as a representative of Labcorp. The role also offers opportunities for continued growth within the organization.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Phlebotomy certification, completion of a phlebotomy training program, or at least 3 months of experience as a phlebotomist.
• If substituting certification or training for work experience, it must be from an accredited agency.
• Proven track record of exceptional customer service.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Comfort working under minimal supervision.
• Reliable transportation.
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
• Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test.

Nice To Haves

• At least 1 year of phlebotomy experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for patients of all age groups.
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, and other purposes.
• Enter patient information accurately and promptly.
• Process billing information and collect payments as necessary.
• Prepare collected specimens for testing and analysis.
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs.
• Provide superior customer service to patients.
• Perform administrative and clerical duties as necessary.
• Travel to additional sites when needed.
