About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a Phlebotomist Float to work across clinics and locations in Suffolk County, New York. The role offers exposure to a variety of patients and teams and opportunities to develop phlebotomy skills and grow within the organization. The schedule is 28 hours per week: Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., plus rotating Sundays from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The pay range is $17.75–$26.00 per hour. A float incentive of an additional $1.00 per hour and mileage reimbursement are offered. Eligible phlebotomists may participate in a quarterly performance-based PST Incentive Plan. Employees regularly scheduled to work at least 20 hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Phlebotomy certification, completion of a phlebotomy training program, or at least 3 months of experience as a phlebotomist.
• If substituting certification or completed training for work experience, it must be from an accredited agency.
• Proven track record of providing exceptional customer service.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment and with minimal supervision.
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
• Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test.
• Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation.
• Must be at least 21 years old.

Nice To Haves

• At least 2 years of phlebotomy experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for patients of all age groups.
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, and related purposes.
• Enter patient information accurately and promptly.
• Process billing information and collect payments as necessary.
• Prepare collected specimens for testing and analysis.
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs.
• Provide superior customer service to patients.
• Perform administrative and clerical duties as necessary.
• Travel to additional sites when needed.
