About The Position

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Phlebotomist to join the team. The role supports patient care by performing venipunctures and other specimen collections, ensuring sample quality and accuracy, and helping maintain smooth laboratory operations. The position combines direct patient interaction, careful specimen handling, and collaboration with a high-energy team.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Phlebotomy certification, state-specific if applicable.
At least 2 years of phlebotomy experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Demonstrated proficiency in venipuncture using straight and butterfly needles.

Responsibilities

Perform blood draws with skill and care, ensuring patient comfort and accuracy.
Collect, label, and store specimens according to established protocols.
Handle specimens, including centrifuging, freezing, and packaging them for transport.
Verify test requisitions against computer labels to maintain accuracy.
Explain procedures courteously to patients and assist with blood, urine, and fecal specimen collections.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment through decontamination and maintenance recording.
Follow OSHA and DEP safety regulations and protocols.
Update and manage patient information accurately.
Assist with troubleshooting and training, and recommend workflow improvements.
Answer patient inquiries by phone and provide laboratory results as needed.
Attend required department trainings to stay current with best practices.
