About The Position

Phlebotomist is responsible for clinical laboratory duties, including reception and telephone duties, proficient operation of laboratory equipment including HIS/LIS systems, specimen handling (receiving, processing, prep & shipping), specimen/patient registration, phlebotomy (collection of blood samples by venipuncture or capillary stick), therapeutic blood collection, swab collection of specific Micro samples, assignment to OP Lab locations, and training new staff. If assigned to a site where offered, duties may also include dispatch functions, EKG performance, collection of DOT and non-DOT drug screens, for cause drug screens, and Breath Alcohol Testing. The role requires respectful and patient communications (written and verbal) with patients, clients, other lab staff, and caregivers from other departments. Requirements

  • Washington Medical Assistant Phlebotomist Certification upon hire
  • Six (6) months direct experience as a phlebotomist and/or completion of a Phlebotomy program

  • Medical Assistant or Phlebotomy training Program/Course approved by WA State

  • Clinic relief fill-in
