About The Position

This position involves using equipment to collect samples of blood and other fluids from patients/residents, explaining procedures, and collecting information in a professional manner. The role requires collecting and managing samples, ensuring patient safety, accurately recording patient information, following standard procedures and safety regulations, and deploying asepsis techniques. Communication with patients/residents, including collecting health information and answering questions about procedures, is also a key part of the role.
Requirements
- High school diploma or General Educational Development Diploma (GED) required.
- May be required to have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Nice To Haves
- Completion of a formal phlebotomy program.
- Phlebotomy experience.
- Experience in a laboratory-related field.
Responsibilities
- Collects and manages samples of blood and specimens from patients/residents.
- Ensures patient/resident safety during the sample collection process.
- Records and documents patient/resident information accurately.
- Follows all standard procedures and safety regulations.
- Deploys asepsis techniques during phlebotomy procedures.
- Communicates with patients/residents, collecting their health information and answering their questions regarding phlebotomy procedures.
