About The Position

Overlake Medical Center and Clinics is seeking a phlebotomist to join their Woman's Health OB Specialty Services in Bellevue. In this role, the phlebotomist will apply medical knowledge to draw blood samples from patients. The center emphasizes excellent customer service to maintain its #1 rating for patient satisfaction among outpatient clinic peers in the region. Overlake Medical Center is a 349-bed, nonprofit regional medical center serving the Puget Sound region, employing nearly 3,000 people and having approximately 1,000 active and courtesy providers on its medical staff. It is the first Level III Trauma Center on the Eastside, known for award-winning, compassionate, and patient-centered care, and has received numerous regional and national awards. The organization was founded by community volunteers and continues to rely on them. Overlake also conducts a community health needs assessment (CHNA) and Implementation Strategy to outline its commitment to community health services and address unmet community needs.

Requirements

  • Proof of High School diploma or GED required
  • Phlebotomy certificate from an accredited school and/or on-the-job phlebotomy training is required
  • Current Washington State Medical Assistant –Phlebotomy required
  • Medical Assistant – Registered License (OC clinic will provide, once hired) required
  • Health care provider CPR Certification, required
  • Excellent customer service skills and professional appearance

Nice To Haves

  • American Society of Clinical Pathologist (ASCP) registration a plus
  • Six months phlebotomy experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Draw blood samples from patients
  • Prepare the testing room with proper tools
  • Educate patients about the blood draw process
  • Ensure proper labeling
