About The Position

The Laboratory Department is seeking a Phlebotomist to draw blood samples from patients, prepare specimens for laboratory testing, and complete clerical duties to help maintain efficient department operations. Duties include order entry, result lookup, report generation, and responding to internal and external calls in a friendly and helpful manner. The position requires travel to off-site locations.

Requirements

• High school degree or GED.
• Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to engage professionally with staff and patients.
• Ability to travel to off-site locations.

Nice To Haves

• Phlebotomist certification; preferred but not required.
• One year of phlebotomy experience; preferred but not required.
• Customer service experience in a retail or service environment.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and community members respectfully and provide excellent customer service.
• Collect specimens from patients according to established procedures and ensure they are properly processed.
• Accurately identify patients and match each patient’s identity with the correct service to support patient safety.
• Enter data and process specimens by labeling, centrifuging, splitting, and freezing them as requested by test orders.
• Perform departmental clerical duties, including checking inventory, stocking supplies, and answering phones as needed.
• Troubleshoot and resolve problems promptly.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
