About The Position

Sanford Health, the largest rural health system in the United States, is dedicated to transforming the health care experience and providing access to world-class health care in America’s heartland. This role uses equipment to collect samples of blood and other fluids from patients/residents; explains procedures to patients/residents and collects information from them in a professional manner. The Phlebotomist collects and manages samples of blood and specimens from patients/residents, ensuring patient/resident safety during the sample collection process. They accurately record and document patient/resident information, follow all standard procedures and safety regulations, and deploy asepsis techniques during phlebotomy procedures. This role also involves communicating with patients/residents, collecting their health information, and answering their questions regarding phlebotomy procedures.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or General Educational Development Diploma (GED) required
  • May be required to have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of a formal phlebotomy program
  • Phlebotomy experience
  • Experience in a laboratory-related field
