About The Position

Fairview Park Hospital is hiring a PRN Phlebotomist. The role promotes positive patient interactions and provides specimen collection in accordance with Clinical Laboratory policies and procedures. The Phlebotomist instructs patients on proper specimen collection, communicates effectively under stressful conditions and time constraints, maintains confidentiality, and follows infection-control practices while keeping the work area neat and well maintained. Work experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

Promote consistent, positive patient interactions and excellent patient service.
Collect specimens according to established Clinical Laboratory policies and procedures.
Instruct patients on proper specimen collection procedures.
Work efficiently and communicate effectively under stressful conditions and time constraints.
Maintain strict confidentiality of work-related information.
Follow infection-control practices, including handwashing and wearing personal protective equipment.
Maintain a neat, well-kept work area.
