About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a Phlebotomist to join its team at 3046 N. Halsted in Chicago, Illinois. The position may be based in a Patient Service Center or a client office. The Phlebotomist provides skilled specimen collection and exceptional customer service, serving as a representative of the company. The role also offers opportunities for ongoing growth within the organization.

The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The pay range is $17.75 to $24.50 per hour. Eligible Phlebotomists may participate in the PST Incentive Plan, which pays a quarterly bonus based on performance metrics.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Phlebotomy certification, completion of a training program, or at least three months of experience as a phlebotomist.
• If qualifying through certification or a training program in lieu of work experience, the program or certification must be from an accredited agency.
• Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional customer service.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
• Comfort working under minimal supervision.
• Reliable transportation.
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
• Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test.

Nice To Haves

• At least one year of phlebotomy experience with pediatric and geriatric patients.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections using venipuncture and capillary techniques for patients of all age groups.
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, and other purposes.
• Enter patient information accurately and promptly.
• Process billing information and collect payments as necessary.
• Prepare collected specimens for testing and analysis.
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs.
• Provide superior customer service to patients.
• Perform administrative and clerical duties as necessary.
• Travel to additional sites when needed.
