About The Position

We are seeking a friendly and energetic Phlebotomist/Processor with excellent people skills to enhance our team. Ideal candidates will have a collaborative spirit and a commitment to supporting both our patients and our team’s goals. This role involves administrative duties such as providing customer service and answering phones, technical responsibilities like performing venipuncture and preparing samples, accurate data management, specimen handling, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols and HIPAA policies. Flexibility to cover shifts at different sites and a commitment to reliable attendance are essential.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Previous phlebotomy experience of 1 year is preferred but not required
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in all tasks
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently
  • Strict adherence to laboratory protocols and quality control standards
  • Ability to sit, stand, bend, kneel, crawl, twist, and walk on uneven surfaces throughout the day.
  • Frequent bending, extended standing, and lifting up to 30 pounds.
  • Flexibility to work extended hours or overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Providing excellent customer service, answering phones, and monitoring for instrumentation alarms.
  • Performing venipuncture for blood collection, obtaining additional specimen types as required, and preparing all samples for lab testing and screening.
  • Verifying specimen information, performing data entry, and properly identifying patient information.
  • Receiving, processing, and packaging samples for referral labs while maintaining specimen integrity.
  • Following safety protocols, HIPAA policies, Medicare rules, and participating in quality assurance.
  • Covering work shifts at different sites as needed to ensure smooth operations.
  • Maintaining consistent, punctual, and reliable attendance to ensure continuity of operations and support for our team and patients.
