Phlebotomist II
About The Position
Quest Diagnostics is seeking a Phlebotomist II in West Nyack, NY. This position is responsible for performing specimen collection on patients of all ages. The role involves ensuring patient comfort and safety during the collection process, maintaining accurate patient identification, and adhering to all safety and infection control policies. The Phlebotomist II will also be responsible for processing specimens, performing basic laboratory tests, and maintaining laboratory equipment and supplies. This role requires excellent customer service skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Completion of a phlebotomy training program.
- Current Phlebotomy certification (e.g., ASCP, AMT).
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a phlebotomist.
- Proficiency in venipuncture and capillary collection techniques.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and laboratory procedures.
- Familiarity with laboratory information systems (LIS).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic computer skills.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with pediatric or geriatric phlebotomy.
- Experience with point-of-care testing.
- Additional certifications in related fields.
