About The Position

This is an urgent care site position for a Phlebotomist II. The hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM CST. The employee will undergo an initial training period of 6 business days at Allina Commons, followed by on-site training and coverage at the designated site. The role requires the ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment, work independently with minimal supervision, and possess excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections. Flexibility is essential, as the role requires availability based on staffing needs, which may include weekends, holidays, on-call duties, and overtime. The position also demands adherence to all company policies and procedures, the ability to make decisions based on established procedures, and good judgment. Reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, and a clean driving record are necessary. Travel and flexible hours are required to work multiple locations and cover Patient Service Center/In-Office Phlebotomy locations with minimal notice. The ability to handle multiple priorities in a high-volume setting and demonstrate superior customer focus, open communication, adaptability to change, and business knowledge is crucial.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1-3 years phlebotomy experience required, inclusive of pediatric, geriatric and capillary collections.
  • Keyboard/data entry experience.
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver license, and clean driving record, if applicable.
  • Ability to provide quality, error free work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
  • Excellent phlebotomy skills to include pediatric and geriatric.
  • Must be able to make decisions based on established procedures and exercise good judgment.
  • Capable of handling multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.
  • Must demonstrate Superior Customer Focus; ability to communicate openly and transparently with peers, supervisors and patients; ability to accelerate and embrace change; and knowledge of our business.

Nice To Haves

  • Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred.
  • 2 years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.
  • Customer service in a retail or service environment highly preferred.
