About The Position

Quest Diagnostics is seeking a Phlebotomist II for their Woodland Park, NJ location. This position operates Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with rotational weekends. Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is required, and unvaccinated individuals will undergo regular testing. The pay range for this role is $19.41 - $29.12 per hour. Salary offers are determined by a variety of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, certifications, and market/organizational factors. Successful candidates may be eligible for annual performance bonus compensation.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of a phlebotomy training program.
  • Certification as a Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a phlebotomist.
  • Proficiency in venipuncture and capillary blood collection techniques.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and laboratory procedures.
  • Strong understanding of safety and infection control standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination or willingness to undergo regular testing.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  • Experience in a high-volume laboratory setting.
  • Additional certifications in phlebotomy or related fields.

Responsibilities

  • Perform blood collection (phlebotomy) on patients, including infants, children, adults, and the elderly.
  • Process specimens according to established procedures.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
  • Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols.
  • Provide excellent customer service to patients and healthcare professionals.
  • Operate and maintain phlebotomy equipment.
  • May perform other related duties as assigned.
