About The Position

This is a Part-Time Phlebotomist I position located in Brooklyn, NY. The work schedule is Monday to Thursday, from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM. The candidate must be fluent in English and one of the following languages: Jewish (Hebrew/Yiddish/German based/Russian/French). The pay range is $18.70 - $28.04 per hour, with potential for shift differentials. Salary offers are determined by various factors including skills, training, experience, education, certifications, and market conditions. Successful candidates may also be eligible for annual performance bonuses.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years working in Phlebotomy.
  • Previous Pediatric skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English.

Nice To Haves

  • Medical assistant or paramedic training.
  • Phlebotomy certification (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).
  • Customer service experience in a retail or service environment.
  • Keyboard/data entry experience.

Responsibilities

  • Collect specimens according to established procedures, including drug screens, biometric screening, and insurance exams.
  • Administer oral solutions according to established training.
  • Research test/client information and confirm/verify all written and electronic orders using lab technology systems, client contact, and approved tools.
  • Navigate a computer and accurately enter data.
  • Obtain identification, accurately enter billing information, and collect payments when required, following corporate policies.
  • Process specimens, including labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing, and preparing for transport as required by test order.
  • Perform non-patient facing duties such as inventory, stocking supplies, sanitizing, filing, answering phones, and using email.
  • Read, understand, and comply with departmental policies, protocols, and procedures.
  • Assist with the compilation and submission of statistics and data when required.
  • Maintain all appropriate phlebotomy logs in a timely manner, such as maintenance and temperature logs.
  • Complete online and in-person training courses timely.
