About The Position

This is a part-time Phlebotomist I position located in Brooklyn, NY. The work schedule is Saturday from 5:00 PM to 11:00 PM and Sunday from 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM. The role requires the ability to speak both English and one of the following languages: Jewish (Hebrew/Yiddish/German based/Russian/French). The pay range is $18.70 - $28.04 per hour, with potential for shift differentials. Salary offers are determined by various factors including skills, training, experience, education, certifications, and market/organizational factors. Successful candidates may be eligible for annual performance bonuses.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years working in Phlebotomy (Required).
  • Previous Pediatric skills (Required).
  • Keyboard/data entry experience.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English.

Nice To Haves

  • Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).
  • Customer service in a retail or service environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Collect specimens according to established procedures, including drug screens, biometric screening, and insurance exams.
  • Administer oral solutions according to established training.
  • Research test/client information and confirm/verify all written and electronic orders using lab technology systems, client contact, and approved tools.
  • Obtain identification, accurately enter billing information, and collect payments when required, following corporate policies.
  • Process specimens, including labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing, and preparing for transport as required by test order.
  • Perform non-patient facing duties such as inventory, stocking supplies, sanitizing, filing, answering phones, and using email.
  • Read, understand, and comply with departmental policies, protocols, and procedures.
  • Assist with the compilation and submission of statistics and data when required.
  • Maintain all appropriate phlebotomy logs in a timely manner and based on frequency, such as maintenance logs and temperature logs.
  • Complete online and in-person training courses timely.
