Nebraska Methodist Health System is seeking a casual Phlebotomist I to join their team. This position involves collecting and preserving blood samples and other body fluids for analysis, as well as processing specimens appropriately and safely. The role requires utilizing interpersonal skills for communication and cooperation to assist with specimen processing, data entry, and maintaining a clean work area to ensure patient satisfaction. The Phlebotomist I will perform duties to assist in the daily workload, adhering to PPE guidelines, and performing basic dermal and venipuncture collections. They will maintain compliance with established processes, accommodate patient and laboratory needs, and perform duties in Specimen Processing. This includes centrifuging, aliquoting, distributing, and storing specimens, utilizing laboratory information systems and electronic health records, and processing/distributing specimens. The role also involves labeling specimens, entering patient information accurately, maintaining section supplies, and ensuring a clean and orderly work environment. Effective communication with laboratory, clinic, hospital personnel, couriers, and clients is essential, as is providing help with test directory inquiries. The Phlebotomist I will participate as a team member, prioritize and organize work for timely and accurate completion of multiple tasks, and document orientation, training, and education. They will also participate in continuing education as required.
