About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a Phlebotomist Floater to join their team in Fort Wayne, IN. This role involves performing blood collections, processing specimens, data entry, and providing customer service. As a Float Phlebotomist, you will gain experience working with various patients, team members, and locations, offering opportunities for growth within the organization. This position is full-time, with scheduled hours varying between 7:00 am and 7:00 pm, Monday through Friday, and rotating Saturdays. The role may also be eligible for a Float Incentive bonus and mileage reimbursement.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
1 year or more of phlebotomy experience
Must have a Valid Driver's License and clean driving record with reliable transportation
Must be at least 21 years’ old
Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service
Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
Ability to work independently or in a team environment
Comfortable working under minimal supervision
Flexibility to work overtime as needed
Able to pass a standardized color blindness test

Nice To Haves

3 years or more of phlebotomy experience with pediatric and geriatric patients
In lieu of work experience, a Phlebotomy certification or completed training program must come from an accredited agency

Responsibilities

Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
Process billing information and collect payments when necessary
Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis
Maintain patient and specimen information logs
Provide superior customer service to all patients
Administrative and clerical duties as necessary
Travel to additional sites when needed
