About The Position
Physicians’ Primary Care of Southwest Florida is a premier multi-specialty primary care practice with locations in Cape Coral, Estero, Fort Myers, and Lehigh Acres, celebrating 30 years of growth. This is a float position, primarily based at our Lehigh Acres office, requiring reliable transportation and flexibility to provide coverage at satellite practice laboratories as needed. The role involves performing venipuncture and capillary punctures, collecting specimens, ensuring accurate recording and labeling, maintaining laboratory areas, and adhering to strict confidentiality and HIPAA guidelines.
Requirements
- One year of phlebotomy experience required
- CPR certification required or ability to obtain upon hire
- Great attention to detail and the ability to record information accurately
- Ability to develop and maintain a good rapport and a cooperative working relationship with providers, staff, and patients
- Knowledge of laboratory techniques and equipment to perform routine tests
- Must have reliable transportation
- Reliability is critical
Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary punctures on patients
- Collect specimens in the correct container according to COLA requirements
- Ensure the correct recording and labeling of all specimens collected
- Clean, maintain, and stock phlebotomy area, draw stations, and patient restrooms
- Provide coverage at our satellite practice laboratories on an as-needed basis
- Maintain the strictest confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA guidelines and regulations
