Phlebotomist (Certified): PT 1st Shift

Firelands Health is seeking a Certified Phlebotomist to join our team. Our goal is to be the best & preferred independent healthcare employer for the Sandusky Bay region. Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Must be currently certified in CPR/BLS (and recertified bi-annually).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain a positive impression of the Medical Center at all times.
- Ability to handle sensitive telephone and face-to-face inquiries.
- Computer skills required.
- Ability to be mobile.
- Must possess a valid State of Ohio motor vehicle operator's license and be insurable under Firelands' auto policy.
- Employee must provide proof of personal automobile liability insurance coverage upon request.
Nice To Haves
- Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant certificate preferred.
- Previous phlebotomy experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Greets patients and correctly enters physician orders into the laboratory computer system obtaining any necessary information from the outpatients.
- Performs patient registration duties as required.
- Performs proper patient identification during all specimen collections.
- Answers phones, completes requests, and relays messages.
- Maintains current knowledge of all computer applications necessary to carry out job duties.
- Provides clear and complete communication and documentation to co-workers, patients, and clients using all tools available.
- Regularly demonstrates the ability to serve patients of all ages in the routine performance of duties.
