About The Position

The Philanthropy Operations Manager is responsible for developing, managing, evaluating and integrating a robust data management and prospect research program as well as encouraging and increasing annual donations and legacy gifts from individual donors. This position is responsible for all database management, development reporting and analytics, gift processing and acknowledgments, development communications, donor stewardship, and prospect research, including the preparation of prospect profiles to support fundraising efforts. Additionally, the role focuses on building a pipeline of prospective annual or planned giving donors, managing annual campaigns, and ensuring that the organization meets its unrestricted and restricted fundraising goals. This position will support the Chief Philanthropy Officer (CPO) in the development and stewardship of HomeSafe’s Major Giving and Planned Giving Recognition Societies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field required.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the development process, including stewardship, donor relations, prospect research and database management.
  • 3-5 years Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge software and relational database architecture and management experience.
  • Prospect research and wealth screening software resources experience
  • Valid Florida’s driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

  • Consult with the Chief Philanthropy Officer and Senior Staff to understand and analyze donor/prospect database needs and develop and implement a database architecture and management plan.
  • Ensure prospect/donor records are configured to effectively support the needs of HomeSafe’s growing Development Department and keep pace with developments in software functionality.
  • Set policies and procedures for use of the database and lead training for all appropriate staff to ensure adherence to these policies.
  • Serve as the primary liaison to Blackbaud, as well as other appropriate CRM and prospect research software vendors/consultants, for account management, training, system updates and enhancements.
  • Oversee complex data requests from the CPO and Senior Staff and develop dynamic dashboards for frequently-used reports and queries.
  • Fulfill requests for simple and complex report generations and list pulls, including financial reports, giving trend reports, and donor/prospect reports.
  • Be responsible for accurate and timely gift processing, including entering gifts into Raiser’s Edge using appropriate appeal, fund and gift designation codes, and preparing timely IRS-compliant thank you letters and gift receipts.
  • Design, implement, and manage annual and legacy giving societies which includes targeted outreach, stewardship, recognition and affiliation with like-minded donors.
  • Create and implement a program to increase donor awareness of, receptivity to, and investment in planned giving opportunities through communication, marketing, and education strategies.
