About The Position

Under general supervision of the CEO and according to The Health Trust’s (THT) general policies and procedures, The Philanthropy & Development Manager is responsible for leading and advancing the organization's fundraising, donor engagement, and philanthropic partnership strategies. This position strengthens relationships with donors and community stakeholders to advance philanthropic opportunities through the implementation of a comprehensive development plan. This role will maintain a strong focus on identifying, pursuing, and securing funding opportunities and strategic partnerships with major donors, corporate partners, foundations, and government entities. The Philanthropy & Development Manager serves as a strategic partner to organizational leadership and works collaboratively across departments to support the organization's mission and strategic priorities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressive fundraising experience.
  • Prior foundation experience required.
  • Excellent verbal communication and writing skills, and the ability to work as part of a collaborative team.

  • Demonstrated ability to use and leverage sophisticated databases to drive efficiency and successful outcomes.
  • Ability to define problems, collect and interpret data, and make recommendations and decisions.

  • Proficient in Google Suite and Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement detailed and data driven annual and multi-year fundraising strategies to achieve organizational revenue goals.
  • Identify and research new major donor, government entity, new foundation and corporate funding opportunities aligned with THT’s strategic priorities.
  • Develop clear, persuasive grant proposals and partnership concept notes, along with other high-quality materials that advance fundraising goals.
  • Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major gift prospects and donors.
  • Assist in outreach efforts to prospective partners to build interest and support in securing philanthropic commitments.
  • Lead annual giving campaigns, special fundraising initiatives, and donor engagement activities.
  • Monitor fundraising performance and adjust strategies to maximize results.
  • Serve as the primary steward of the organization's donor database, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of all records.
  • Lead ongoing database cleanup initiatives, including duplicate record identification and resolution, standardization of donor information, data validation, and record maintenance.
  • Develop and implement data governance standards, procedures, and best practices to improve data quality and consistency across fundraising activities.
  • Actively identify and build operation efficiencies, inclusive of incorporating emerging technologies.
  • Manage donor segmentation strategies to support targeted cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, and engagement efforts.
  • Generate and analyze fundraising reports, dashboards, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate campaign effectiveness, donor retention, donor acquisition, pipeline development, and revenue trends.
  • Utilize data analytics to identify fundraising opportunities, donor giving patterns, lapsed donor recovery strategies, and major gift prospects.
  • Prepare accurate reports, candidate donor dossier, and analyses for executive leadership, board committees, and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate utilize an integrated approach while working with the Communications, Grantmaking, and Advocacy teams to translate fundraising objectives into clear programmatic outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the Grantmaking and Advocacy team strategy and priorities to create and communicate compelling narratives.
  • Manage agency events, including event planning, invitation/guest list management, and related tasks.
  • Represent THT at external events and meetings.
  • Execute all department administrative duties; data entry; donation processing, email management, public inquiries, check requests, calendar management etc.
  • Produce and send letters of acknowledgement to donors.
  • Work collaboratively with the Finance Department to ensure all donations are coded and recorded appropriately, including conducting monthly reconciliation.
