About The Position

Multiple PhD opportunities are available within the ARC Industrial Transformation Training Centre (ITTC) for Sustainable and Green Economy Manufacturing (SAGE-M). These are industry-connected placements at the forefront of sustainable chemistry, catalysis, and advanced manufacturing. Successful candidates will be working alongside leading academics and industry partners and have access to world-class facilities, interdisciplinary training, and real-world industry engagement. Additional projects will become available throughout the year. Scholarship holders must be enrolled full-time and on campus. The successful applicant will be expected to enrol by September 2026, with some flexibility according to circumstances.

Requirements

• Fulfil the criteria for PhD admission at Monash University.
• Demonstrate excellent research capability.
• Hold a degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Electrochemistry, Physics, or a relevant and related area.
• Show excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to conduct self-motivated research within a group of high-performing and target-driven researchers.
• Hold a research-based Honours or Masters Degree (or equivalent) in the relevant research areas.
• Interviews will be conducted in English.
• Applicants who already hold a PhD will not be considered.

Nice To Haves

• Preferably have a record of publishing their research in mainstream scientific journals.
