Pharmacy Technician-Closed Door Pharmacy
About The Position
As a Back-End Pharmacy Technician with Omnicare, you will help ensure patients’ medication needs and regulatory standards are met in a closed-door pharmacy. You will work across a variety of workstations, supporting order fulfillment through medication packaging and dispensing, checking delivery orders and bins for accuracy, and coordinating stock rotations. Omnicare serves skilled nursing facilities, assisted living communities, and other institutional and chronic care settings. The pharmacies are not open to the public, and the role is part of a supportive team environment. The position will be employed by Omnicare, which is operating as an independent, standalone organization following its sale by CVS Health.
Requirements
- Certification, licensure, or registration as a pharmacy technician, as required by state law.
- At least one year of experience as a pharmacy technician or equivalent experience.
- Verifiable high school diploma or GED.
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience in the long-term care industry.
- Prior experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.
- PTCB National Certification.
- Five or more years of experience as a pharmacy technician or equivalent experience.
Responsibilities
- Rotate and work in assigned pharmacy workstations, including Packaging, Staging, Returns, Receiving, Narcotics, IV, Ekit, Compounding, Omnicell Cycle Fill, and Machine Packaging.
- Receive product deliveries, pull and stage product for distribution, rotate stock, and coordinate with drivers to ensure shipments are accurate and deliveries are timely.
- Perform physical inventories of medication.
- Support closed-door pharmacy order fulfillment, including packaging and dispensing medication and reviewing delivery orders and bins for accuracy.
