About The Position

This position assists the pharmacist in filling medication orders, maintaining pharmacy stock, and providing patient education. The role involves using pharmacy robotics and manual methods for filling prescriptions, compounding medications, and managing inventory. The Pharmacy Technician also handles patient check-ins, refill requests, and performs related clerical duties to ensure accurate record-keeping and a sanitary work environment.

Requirements

Valid, unrestricted insurable driver's license.
Resumes and references are required.
Six (6) months of work experience in a pharmacy.
High School Diploma or Equivalency (HSE).
Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) Certificate.
Must obtain state licensure (AZ or NM) within a month of date of hire.
Current certificate of Indian blood (CIB).

Responsibilities

Assists pharmacist in filling medication orders utilizing pharmacy robotics and hand count, ensuring appropriate medication and labeling.
Maintains appropriate levels of pre-packed medications and reconstitutes powder oral medications.
Compounds sterile admixtures and extemporaneous medications following USP standards and company policies.
Checks in patients, handles refill requests, and directs patient issues to a pharmacist.
Returns medication to stock and updates patient records in RPMS and EHR.
Provides patient education and refers patients to the pharmacist when necessary.
Checks pharmacy stock, ensures proper storage, rotates stock, discards outdated drugs, and assists with physical inventory.
Fills automated dispensing cabinet medication orders and maintains pharmacy filling robotics.
Performs clerical work, answers phones, and maintains a clean work area.
Answers technical and patient demographic questions and refers complex questions to the pharmacist.
Performs other duties as assigned.
