About The Position
Olympic Medical Center is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to join their team on Washington State’s beautiful North Olympic Peninsula. This role offers a competitive salary, excellent benefits, and a desirable Pacific Northwest lifestyle. The position is 60% FTE with a variable work shift and a pay range of $26.36 - $39.04 per hour. Weekend and holiday shifts are expected, with various shift differentials and premiums available for evening, night, weekend, pharmacy night, standby, lead, per diem, certification, trainer, and student coordinator roles. The Pharmacy Technician will receive and fill prescription requests, prepare medications and IVs, perform computer order entry and billing, deliver supplies, prepackage medications, maintain records, assist with training new staff, and perform drug stock control.
Requirements
- Graduate of a Washington State Board of Pharmacy approved Pharmacy Technician training Program.
- Certification as a Pharmacy Technician in Washington State required.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with hospital drug distribution systems, hospital computer systems, IV compounding systems and other hospital related systems preferred.
- National certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) preferred.
Responsibilities
- Receives and fills prescription requests from physicians and other qualified prescribers.
- Prepares/ compounds medications, IVs and other pharmaceutical supplies based on OMC protocols/procedures.
- Performs computer order entry/billing.
- Delivers supplies.
- Prepackages medications.
- Maintains records.
- Assists with training new staff.
- Performs drug stock control and other various other related duties.
