About The Position

Conversio Health is hiring Pharmacy Technicians to compound, order, stock, package, and process medications in our San Luis Obispo based pharmacy. No prior compounding experience required! You must hold a current CA Pharmacy Technician license but all other training will be provided. In addition to our competitive rates and full traditional benefits package, we will reimburse pharmacy tech license renewals, offer flexible schedules (five 8-hour shifts or four 10-hour shifts), and have no nights or weekend schedules. The Pharmacy Technician will work under the direction of a Pharmacist. You must have good communication skills to inform management of anything critical. You need to be flexible to adjust to daily workflow demands and be a positive reinforcement for the team in the clean room. Due to the critical nature of many common pharmacy duties, the Pharmacy Technician must enjoy performing precise work, where details can be a matter of health. This position requires the ability to complete tasks accurately every time.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Must hold valid and current CA Pharmacy Technician license
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time while working under a vertical or horizontal hood
  • Must be capable of wearing all protective wear as required by the facility SOPs. This includes, but not limited to: mask, gloves, gown, hairnet, safety goggles, etc.
  • Must be able to lift up to 35lbs.
  • Reliably commute or planning to relocate to San Luis Obispo before starting work (Required)

Nice To Haves

  • National certification (PTCB) preferred, but not required

Responsibilities

  • Preparation and compounding of sterile products
  • Maintaining the pharmacy clean room to USP 797 and USP 800 requirements
  • Performs area clearance and verifies batch supplies and enters data in the computer system
  • Documentation of IV admixture and clean room sterility testing
  • Properly use all equipment in the lab that is necessary to make the compound.
  • Assembles, inspects and verifies compounding components.
  • Calibration and proper documentation of scales, electronic meters, etc.
  • Follow all safety and USP guidelines for preparation of compounding I.V. solutions
  • Complete order entry and refills under the supervision of the Pharmacist in Charge
  • Complete appropriate documentation such as labels, log sheets, and reports in a timely manner
  • Assist with inventory management and storage
