About The Position

CVS Health Pharmacy Technicians support the pharmacy team in promptly, safely, and accurately filling patient prescriptions while delivering compassionate customer service. They help ensure medication needs are met and regulatory standards are followed, maintain patient confidentiality, and conduct themselves ethically in compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws. The role involves managing assigned pharmacy workstations and tasks in a fast-paced retail pharmacy environment.

New technicians must complete the CVS Pharmacy Technician Training Program and meet registration, licensing, and certification requirements under the applicable State Board of Pharmacy guidelines. Duties may initially be restricted by the manager until required qualifications are satisfied. Technicians can then continue developing clinical, technical, and insurance knowledge through available tools and training. Collective bargaining agreement rules may apply in select markets. Depending on the role and location, COVID-19 vaccination may be required where legally permissible, subject to reasonable accommodation provisions.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Meet applicable state licensure requirements; requirements vary by state.
• Ability to concentrate on tasks without being distracted.
• Customer service orientation, including helping people in a friendly manner, understanding customer reactions, and responding appropriately.
• Verbal and written communication skills for interacting with customers and colleagues; active listening skills.
• Mathematical reasoning, such as calculating a prescription’s days’ supply.
• Problem-resolution skills, including recognizing problems and selecting an appropriate course of action in complex situations.
• Physical ability to remain standing for sustained periods, move between work areas, and perform the physical demands described in the posting.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.
• Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
• PTCB National Certification.

Responsibilities
