About The Position

CVS Health Pharmacy Technicians support pharmacy operations and service excellence in retail locations. They help ensure prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately; assist patients in person, at drive-thru, and over the phone; and contribute to positive patient experiences through empathetic, personalized service. Technicians follow company standard operating procedures, pharmacy workflow practices, and applicable legal and ethical requirements while supporting a safe, inclusive team culture. After starting, Technicians must complete the company training program and meet the registration, licensing, and certification requirements established by their state’s Board of Pharmacy. Duties may be restricted by the Pharmacy Manager until those requirements are satisfied. Depending on applicable law and training, Technicians may also support immunizations and other patient health care services, including point-of-care testing and offsite clinics. Where permitted, Technician Immunizers complete additional training and licensure, educate patients about vaccines, refer vaccination questions to the Pharmacist-on-duty, respond to and report adverse reactions, document patient information, and manage vaccine supplies.
