About The Position

The Pharmacy Technician practices the profession of pharmacy in an environment whose philosophy and policies promote patient care. The role calls for a friendly approach and remarkable customer service to support patients’ overall health. The technician retrieves and stocks medications, processes prescription and customer information, prepares labels, adjudicates insurance claims, completes pharmacy paperwork, and orders prescription medications. The position also supports pharmacy initiatives and clinical services, prioritizes work, communicates effectively, maintains a clean and orderly pharmacy, and protects patient confidentiality.

Responsibilities

Retrieve the appropriate medication from inventory.
Enter customer and prescription information into the pharmacy dispensing system.
Create prescription labels and adjudicate insurance claims.
Complete paperwork related to filling prescriptions and receiving drug orders.
Order prescription medication for the Pharmacy Department.
Stock prescription medication.
Promote pharmacy initiatives and clinical services to customers.
Prioritize workload.
Use effective communication skills and act as an agent of change.
