About The Position

CVS Health Pharmacy Technicians help patients with their medication needs and support the pharmacy team in promptly, safely, and accurately filling prescriptions. They provide caring customer service, maintain patient confidentiality, demonstrate ethical conduct, and comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Technicians manage assigned pharmacy workstations and tasks in a fast-paced retail pharmacy environment.

New Pharmacy Technicians must complete CVS Pharmacy Technician Training and meet applicable state registration, licensing, and certification requirements. Duties may initially be restricted until those requirements are satisfied. Technicians can then continue to develop their clinical, technical, and insurance knowledge through available tools and training. The position may be subject to collective bargaining agreement rules in select markets. Depending on role and location, COVID-19 vaccination may be required where permitted by law, subject to reasonable accommodations.

Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Meet licensure requirements, which vary by state.
• Ability to concentrate on tasks over time without distraction.
• Customer service orientation, including helping people in a friendly manner and responding appropriately to customer reactions.
• Verbal and written communication skills to interact with customers and colleagues, including active listening.
• Mathematical reasoning, such as calculating a prescription’s days’ supply.
• Problem-resolution skills, including recognizing problems and selecting an appropriate course of action.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.
• Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
• PTCB National Certification.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
