Pharmacy Technician

CVS Health•Indianapolis, IN

About The Position

CVS Health Pharmacy Technicians support the pharmacy team in delivering operational and service excellence in retail locations. They are often the first point of contact for patients and customers, helping pharmacy operations run smoothly and ensuring prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately while providing caring service. Technicians follow company Standard Operating Procedures, pharmacy workflow practices, applicable laws and professional standards, and CVS policies that protect patient safety, privacy, and security. They complete a company training program and meet applicable state registration, licensing, and certification requirements; duties may be restricted until those requirements are met. Technicians contribute to patient care and pharmacy operations by assisting at workstations such as production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off; providing customer service and resolving or escalating patient concerns; completing permitted inventory tasks; and supporting a safe, inclusive, and effective team. Where allowed by law and supported by the required training and certification, they may provide additional services such as immunizations, point-of-care testing, and offsite clinic staffing. Technicians who pursue Technician Immunizer status must complete additional licensure and training requirements and may prepare and administer vaccines, educate and refer patients, respond to adverse reactions, document patient information, and manage vaccine supplies.
