About The Position
HomeTown Pharmacy is hiring a full-time Long-Term Care Pharmacy Technician. The role offers candidates the opportunity to earn while learning through a board-approved Pharmacy Technician Program, with the goal of becoming a licensed Pharmacy Technician for the state. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, able to multitask, enjoys working with customers, works effectively with others, seeks to improve, adapts to change, provides quality service, and maintains professionalism. The Pharmacy Technician works collaboratively to meet pharmacy service goals, welcomes customers and provides prompt service, accurately enters patient information for billing, and helps maintain a safe pharmacy environment by following health code guidelines and corporate standards. The position also involves working knowledge of delivery, dispensing, data entry, billing, and answering to the supervisor within those departments, along with understanding pharmacy terminology, prescription legal requirements, and medical record information.

Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively as a team member to meet the pharmacy’s service goals.
- Greet customers and provide a welcoming environment with quick, efficient service.
- Accurately enter patient information into the pharmacy database to assist with billing.
- Maintain a safe pharmacy environment by following health code guidelines and corporate standards.
- Develop working knowledge of delivery, dispensing, data entry, and billing departments, and answer to the supervisor within each department.
- Understand pharmacy terminology, including generic and brand-name drug names, legal requirements for prescriptions, and medical record information.
